The Data View Manager

The Data View Manager allows you to create views of your multi-value file dictionaries. A data view defines a subset of column definitions of your MV file. You can modify existing dictionary items or create new ones. The
Data View also allows you create extended dictionary definitions to control MS Excel output engine, this is also where you create Excel formula within your dictionaries. Changes made in the Data View are non-intrusive, we never update your actual dictionary items.

JSON

JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a data definition representation. It is now the “standard” in data exchange format and is widely used in web and mobile applications as the data format of choice.
phiReport can generate in real-time JSON documents based on your report definitions (display columns and query statements) and natively supports your multi-value data structures.

(The JSON Add-on option requires the phiRest RESTFul server sold separately.)

OData

OData (Open Data) is a recent standard defined by the OASIS consortium headed by Microsoft. OData uses the JSON data format for input and output and adds a query layer based on HTTP query strings. In other words, OData is an HTTP database query and update language which allows developers to extract and update data from any supported database server types.
phiReport, coupled with phiRest can generate OData schema and OData output in real-time. It is also capable or updating your multi-value database through standard OData HTTP Post requests.
